The Garden Room as the name implies is just off the flower garden and courtyard. The two windows provide an excellent view of the garden. This room again features A/C, TV, WIFI, private bath, and a Queen-sized bed. Bathrobes are available for you to lounge in. The room is cozy and is a room with great charm. The painting of a bouquet of roses in a clear vase is a treasure painted by Kathi's grandmother before she was married. It is signed with her maiden name. She married in 1918.
Original features of the room include the beadboard ceiling with its telltale history of white and green paint. Originally the Garden Room was the "Summer Kitchen" for the house. Cooking was done here to keep the main house cooler in the summer. Laundry was also done in this room. The bathroom originally was the "Larder". The family hung cured meats in this room. Pockets in the brick wall once had timbers that crossed the room and the meat was hung there until needed. This room was never a "smokehouse". A keen eye will notice the brick in the bathroom has many shades of color. The reason for the variation is that this building was built using bricks from the older building that once was on the property. Enjoy your stay in this very quaint room!
